A Stroke for Black America

The African American Museum of Southern New Jersey has wonderful news for your students and your school. The museum has developed a program that will afford art students an opportunity to further expand on their artistic proficiency and place them on a pathway towards a career in the art world.

The competitive art program is designed to include up to 50 New Jersey elementary, middle and high schools. The submitted artwork must have its theme center on the African American Experience. The artists will choose their own medium. All artwork should be submitted ready to display. Trophies will be awarded in three categories: elementary, middle and high schools. Prize winning artwork will become part of the museum's permanent collection.

The artwork will be on display in our museum from 11/15/06 until 1/15/07. Entry deadline is 10/30/06 and all artwork will become the property of the museum.
