The African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey was proud to host a recent meeting of the New Jersey Black Mayors Alliance for Social Justice, an organization of 22 municipal chief executives dedicated to addressing the needs of the “overlooked and marginalized residents” of the state and working to ensure them an “equal opportunity to achieve the American Dream.”

The mayors discussed a broad range of issues, including economic growth and job creation, education, public safety, criminal justice reform and the impact of the presidential election.

The November 11 meeting at the museum’s location at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University in Atlantic City, was attended by former ambassador to Germany and 2017 New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Philip D. Murphy.
