Reception for Artist Melvin Lee Smith's new exhibit

AAHMSNJ will host an Artist's Reception for Melvin Lee Smith's new exhibit, "Black Excellence" on Friday, May 12 from 4 to 7 PM at our Atlantic City location in the Stockton University Noyes Arts Garage. The program will be part of The Arts Garage's Second Friday.
Mr. Smith has previously exhibited selections of his work in group shows at the Museum, however, this show will mark his first solo exhibit. The self taught painter developed an early interest in art after receiving encouragement from his high school art teacher. His youthful dream of becoming an artist was interrupted when he quit school to go to work. Smith is now returning to the arts with a series of paintings that represent his theme of black excellence.
"Black Excellence: Art by Melvin Lee Smith” will be on display from May 4 to June 30, 2023 at our Atlantic City location.
Admission is free, but donations are encourage.
Atlantic City museum hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11 AM to 6 PM; Sunday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
