The African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, located at , NJ 08401, proudly presents The Les Floyd Collection Exhibit, a retrospective showcasing the remarkable work of acclaimed New Jersey artist Leslie Floyd (pictured). The exhibit will be on view from November 18, 2026, through January 16, 2027, at the Noyes Arts Garage, 2200 Fairmount Avenue, Atlantic City.
It offers visitors an opportunity to experience the artistic vision and lifelong creative achievements of one of New Jersey's distinguished artists. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, Leslie Floyd discovered his passion for art at an early age and went on to earn recognition through the National Scholastic Art Awards, representing New Jersey among the nation's top young artists. He studied with artist Maurice Fern and continued his education at Montclair State College and the duCret School of Art. By the early 1970’s, his work was exhibited throughout New Jersey and beyond, including at Yale University.
Working in watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, and other media, Floyd is known for his realistic style with subtle impressionistic influences and for his dedication to mentoring young artists. He continues to create from his Somerville studio, where he draws inspiration from stories and images that move him.
"The Les Floyd Collection Exhibit celebrates a lifetime of artistic excellence, community engagement, and creative inspiration," said exhibit curator Casey Bell. "Visitors will encounter works that reflect both technical mastery and a profound commitment to storytelling through art."
