Artist Romare Wilson

In this exhibition about the influences in his life, Romare Wilson communicates a range of emotion through color, shape, and line. His abstract compositions virtually vibrate with feeling. Wilson creates art from the perspective of his examined life. Ralph E. Hunter, Sr., president and founder of the museum notes that Mr. Wilson previously exhibited his work in a group show at the AAHMSNJ in Atlantic City and comments that “this exhibit offers a more expansive view of his body of abstract paintings and we are pleased to support Mr. Wilson as an emerging local artist.”

The exhibits at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center are open Monday-Friday 10 AM - 5 PM and by appointment on weekends. Visitors are asked to wear masks to protect against the Covid 19 virus.

The African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with museum locations in Atlantic City and Newtonville, New Jersey. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
