A Group Exhibit of Works by Women Artists from New Jersey

At AAHMSNJ Newtonville (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center)

661 Jackson Road, Newtonville, NJ 08346

A group exhibit titled "Jersey Girls" will be on display from February 1 - April 30, 2024 at the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center at 661 Jackson Road in Newtonville. This is the fourth time the museum has hosted a Jersey Girls exhibit highlighting the work of local artists.

The museum routinely supports talented artists by providing them with gallery opportunities. The "Jersey Girls" exhibit, organized by founder and president Ralph E. Hunter, Sr., will include artwork by established and emerging artists in the local art community.

The artwork of the women included in this exhibit represents the rich diversity of artistic talent available in our area.  Our artists are:

  • Nastassia Davis
  • Kandice Fields
  • Jasmine Haines
  • Heather Deegan Hires
  • Randi Meekins
  • Glynnis Reed
  • Chanelle René
  • Sydnéi SmithJordan
  • Simone
  • Hazel Levy Washington

Ralph Hunter remarked that, “this is a wonderful opportunity for lovers of art to support the artists as well as the museum with a single purchase of art.” He added that he is eager to welcome old friends and new supporters of the arts to the museum’s Newtonville location.

The Jersey Girls exhibit will be on display until April 30th.
